Private Residence - Carmel-By-The-Sea
May 2011 - The project is nearing the end and the Landscape features are thriving. Last night the frogs found a home in the new pond.
January 2011 - The stone of the exterior is wrapping around to the front of the house. As full areas of the building are finished you can see how magnificent the house will be. The landscaping has started as well beginning with the grading of the west side of the property. On the interior of the house we can see the intragul plaster has been applied complementing the cedar ceilings. In the coming weeks we will start laying the stone floors as well as have the cabinets installed.
October 2010 - The stone on the outbuildings as well as most of the site walls are now complete. The first shipment of stone for the main house has arrived as well. Installation has started on the west side of the house and is looking amazing. On the interior of the house the Carroll & Strong team is installing the cedar ceilings as well as cedar box beams. By the end of the month all the walls will be covered with blue board in preparation for plaster, radiant tubing installed throughout and all the windows and doors painted and stained. Landscape planting will start as well.
August 2010 - The tradesmen are busy inside the house as they run all of their electrical, plumbing, and A/V lines. In the coming weeks we will start with the sprayed in of insulating foam in preparation for plaster. On the exterior the house is wrapped in the stucco lath. The house will get one coat of plaster over the lath, followed by the whole house being clad in stone.
June-July 2010 - The shell of the house is complete. Our framing crew is going through and completing the details in preparation for all the tradesmen to come in and do their work. On the right you can see the stone being installed that will clad the outbuildings as well as the perimeter walls of the property.
April 2010 - As the framing continues the site changes before our eyes. You can see the inside frame of the studio on the right. The massive 4x12 ceiling joist paired with a steel beam will support the living grass roof to go on in the months to come.
March 2010 - The framing lumber has been delivered and production is in full swing. Meanwhile the stone work has been approved for installation on the two out buildings.
February 2010 - Even though we experienced an unusually wet winter we were able to push through getting the foundation poured and ready for framing on the Main house. As March came to us so did the framing material. Our first walls are going up on the Main house and progress is hard to miss.
January 2010 - As the framing goes up on the Guest Cottage Carroll and Strong's team works hard to form the foundations on the main house. The lot is being transformed before our eyes. Notice the gentle curve in the walls of the Guest Cottage and Studio buildings.
December 2009 - While we wait for the pad for the main house to be conditioned the crew gets a head start on the guest cottage and theater room. Here you see the foundations for the two outbuildings.
October 2009 - Prior to demolition we were able to salvage the stone, doors, windows, and numerous other item's from the house for re-use.
